Taking a walk round the Walls of the maiden city.
Join the Kintra team as they take a tour of Derry’s Walls and find out more about the history of the city.
Helen Mark, in the company of guide Mark Lusby, takes a tour of Derry’s Walls with stops along the way: Diana Culbertson calls at St Colm’s Cathedral to see the key used to lock Ferryquay Gate during the siege, Willie Hill meets singer-songwriter to hear how the walls inspired a song, and Rab Lennox stops off at the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall to see what’s on offer for tourists. Jonnie Crawford visits the Presbyterian church within the walls while Sylvia Burnside’s version of the Londonderry Air accompanies the team throughout their visit.
As always, the Kintra team loves to hear from listeners – especially when there’s a yarn to share, an Ulster-Scots event to promote or a story you think others would enjoy. You can email them at kintra@bbc.co.uk
