Francis Spufford鈥檚 novel Golden Hill won the Costa Book Award, the Ondaatje Prize and the Desmond Elliot Prize and was shortlisted for a host of others. It鈥檚 been described by critics as 鈥榓 crackerjack novel of old Manhattan鈥�, 鈥楲ike a newly discovered novel by Henry Fielding with extra material by Martin Scorsese鈥�, and 鈥榰tterly captivating鈥�.
