As part of Radio 2’s ‘Summer of 96’ season, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic shares his memories of that year choosing one of 1996’s biggest anthems – 'Champagne Supernova' by Oasis.

The superstar songwriter and producer first formed his band in 2002 and released their debut 'Dreaming Out Loud' in 2007, which included the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling single 'Apologize'. To date they have amassed 5 billion streams on Spotify, and OneRepublic's brand new album 'Human' will be released next month and includes their latest single 'Run' which has already amassed over 1.75 billion global streams.

Aside from the band, Ryan has a stellar career collaborating with some of the world's top artists including Adele, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney to name but a few. In early 2014, Billboard named Ryan 'The Undercover King of Pop' and featured him on the magazine's cover. He's also co-written and produced Jessie J's upcoming fifth album, and he's the executive producer of the hit songwriting talent show 'Songland'.

The second track Ryan has chosen today comes from Jeff Buckley. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus more from the legendary music quiz PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
