Gary Raymond and guests cast a critical eye on the Welsh arts. This month feelgood film Dream Horse, S4C's heritage thriller, Brexit novel Easy Meat and Gruff Rhys' new album.

Gary Raymond and guests review the Welsh arts and popular culture scene. This month Gary and guest critics, author and academic Dr Emma Schofield and writer and broadcaster Simon Wright, give their verdict on Dream Horse. Starring Toni Collette, Damien Lewis, Owen Teale and a host of Welsh acting talent, the feelgood film tells the true story of a valleys community that raised champion racehorse Dream Alliance.

The panel explore Rachel Trezise's hotly anticipated "Brexit novel" Easy Meat, with its gritty but endearing take on modern valleys life captured on the day the UK voted Leave.

S4C's dark and intriguing "heritage thriller" Yr Amgueddfa, written by Fflur Dafydd and set in the National Museum of Wales, with a powerful central performance from Nia Roberts, is also up for review,

And Gary and guests have been listening to Gruff Rhys' latest album Seeking New Gods. They discuss how Rhys uses the inspirational power of a mountain – specifically Mount Paektu on the China North Korean Border – as his launchpad for a winding journey through the sounds of seventies psychedelia and east coast rock.
