'If there's no dough, there's no Joe!'
Sean tells the story of Josef Locke negotiating over appearing on the Gerry Anderson show.
"When Gerry Anderson got his TV show, Anderson on the box," Sean says, "the first guest they wanted on was Josef Locke, because the film, Hear My Song had just come out, or was coming out, and there was a lot of publicity about. So off they went to meet up with Joe. They went out for dinner, at a fabulous restaurant, and they started discussing the fee. They were haggling, and out of nowhere Josef Locke started to sing, sitting at the table. And Gerry said he had never heard anything like it, the volume that the man had. He said the hairs on the back of your neck stood up. What a talent he was! And then, when Joe had finished singing, he turned to Gerry's producer, and to Gerry, and he said to them both, 'Well boys! If there's no dough, there's no Joe!'"
They paid him.
With music from The Beatles, Dan Auerbach, Josef Locke, Brad Paisley, and more.
