Back in 1979, Coventry’s was home to one of the most exciting and vibrant indie labels in the land, releasing debut singles from The Special AKA and Madness within weeks of each other. Now a new 2-Tone exhibition is about to open in the city, reflecting the key players in the musical movement that brought ska music to the masses, and telling the story of the sights and sounds that united both black and white kids across the country. Pauline’s chatting with Johnnie about life during the decade before joining The Selecter, as well as picking some songs that meant the most to her.
