"There Wasn't Much Meat on Us Then!"

The story of the man who lifted children with his teeth, and who was a great bubble-gum blower.

"When we were young," Joe in Loughinisland tells Sean, "there was a man who used to lift us on his way home from school... with his teeth."

"Let me get this," Sean says. "He used to lift you off the ground? With his teeth? How did he do that?"

"He lifted two of us in one go. There wasn't much meat on us then!"

"So what did he do?" Sean asks.

"We would hold onto a rope, and he would lift us up, and he would do that until he had no teeth left."

"OK," Sean says.

"And do you know what? He was the best bubble-gum blower. He had a big gap in his teeth for the bubbles to come out."

With music from John Denver, Dwight Yoakam & Sheryl Crowe, Wilson Pickett, Houston Wells and the Marksmen, and more.
