Eddie wants Ed to give him a lift to collect something, but he’s cagey about what it is. Mia thinks Eddie and Clarrie’s relationship is lovely – soulmates. Ed detects a problem and offers to chat. He reckons teenage boys are pretty simple to work out. Mia admits the boy she’s thinking of doesn’t even know she exists. How can she talk to him? Ed suggests she starts with a topic she’s passionate about, like climate. She just has to be herself. Mia won’t divulge the object of her attentions.
Later Eddie’s secret is revealed as a limousine – he wanted something special to transport Clarrie to their vow renewal. Ed declares his dad’s full of surprises.

As Justin winces in pain post-dig, Lilian reckons it’s his pride that’s been wounded as much as his shoulder. It serves him right for treating Ruairi like he did. Justin wants Lilian’s help to search for the capsule. When she refuses he threatens to go public with unflattering photographs of her. Armed with Eddie’s metal detector, which Justin had to pay to borrow, Lilian reluctantly assists. They find the capsule, and Justin tears up the offending photo of him dressed as a daffodil. Lilian discovers some more objects placed in the capsule before they’re sprung by David. His shock turns to amusement as they confess their mission, and he misinterprets the subject of the photo they were after. After he’s gone Justin observes Lilian looks a sight. As they childishly throw mud at each other Lilian reminds Justin she still has the negatives in the loft. That’s karma.
