Wales Mains and Dessert
The remaining chefs compete over dishes inspired by science and innovation but when two chefs go head to head with lamb dishes – who will win and who must go home?
The three remaining chefs are halfway through their heat, and the pressure is mounting. Once again, they each serve a unique take on the brief celebrating British invention and innovation.
For mains, one chef has a lamb dish in honour of Welshman David Thomas, who revolutionised the steel industry in South Wales with his hot blast furnace. Another pays homage to Welsh entrepreneur Sir Pryce Pryce Jones, who invented mail order service. And there’s a celebration of botany with a dish dedicated to the first female president of the Cardiff Naturalists Society. But whose inventions in the kitchen will veteran judge Tommy Banks prefer?
Only two will proceed to Friday’s judging and have a chance to represent Wales at the national finals.
