The Chief Constable, Simon Byrne, is set to brief the Policing Board today after almost a week of violence in loyalist areas of Derry and Greater Belfast which left more than 40 police officers injured. There appears to have been a lull in the trouble with no reports of serious disorder last night, but the police maintained a presence in many areas. The Assembly is to be recalled early from its Easter break tomorrow to discuss the violence.
