"The Dirty Brute Song"
Sean plays "The Dirty Brute Song" for a new listener, Winnie in Liverpool.
Sean decides to play "The Dirty Brute Song" for Winnie from Liverpool, who's 86, enjoys a glass of wine, and "does a little dance" from time to time...
"I'd better explain this now," Sean says. "He's a married man, you see, Winnie, and he goes into the bar, and he sees a couple of girls, and he slips off the wedding ring - you know that sort, he's up to no good... so this is the 'dirty brute song'."
"The station really cheers me up," (says Winnie), "I've got my family and friends listening to the show. Last week my son John managed to text you and I cried with happiness when you mentioned my name."
"I've only been to your city, Liverpool, once," Sean says, "and I fell in love with it, and Janet's the same, she had a great weekend in Liverpool with some friends. We'll meet you down at the Billy Fury statue and we'll take you for a wee white wine."
Iris in Ballyclare says, "I'm a big Billy Fury fan. But I'm being very diplomatic today, so can you please play a Billy Fury song for Winnie, not for me?"
And so the Dirty Brute Song, says Sean, "It's sung by Dickie Rock, and it's Angeline."
With music from Dickie Rock, Shakin' Stevens, Johnny Allan, Dolly Parton, Creedence Clearwater Revival and more.
