In Honour of St David
A service marking St David's Day led by the Revd Stuart Elliott, vicar of Betws-y-Coed, who takes to the nearby hills above the Conwy Valley in search of tranquility.
A service marking St David's Day led by the Rev'd Stuart Elliott, Vicar of Betws-y-Coed, who escapes from the bustle of everyday life to the tiny ancient church of St Rhychwyn up in the hills above the Conwy Valley in north Wales. He considers how we might learn a lesson or two from the age of the Celtic saints, about simplicity, stillness and peace in a world full of much trouble.
Music includes the hymns, ‘Blest are the pure in heart’ and ‘Dear Lord and Father of mankind’, ‘A Responsory for St David’ by Timothy Noon, and a hymn for the saints of Wales written by Bishop Timothy Rees - ‘Lord, who in thy perfect wisdom’.
The evening edition of the programme includes My Favourite Hymn
