Rev'd Dr Stephen Wigley

A service for the Second Sunday in Advent led by the Rev'd Dr Stephen Wigley, chair of the Wales Synod of the Methodist Church

‘Comfort ye’.
On the second Sunday in Advent, the Revd Dr Stephen Wigley, Chair of the Wales Synod of the Methodist Church explores the meaning of two familiar readings in the run up to Christmas. The ancient prophet Isaiah preached a message of comfort for God’s people in exile. Then by stark contrast, there’s John the Baptist about whom there’s very little comfort. Stephen considers what both Isaiah and John the Baptist have to say to us thousands of years later, caught up as we are with the impact of the coronavirus on our lives and our world.
