Writer, GP and intrepid traveller, Gavin Francis, talks about his new book Island Dreams, where he explores his fascination with the isolation and adventure of islands, blending stories of his own travels with psychology, philosophy and great voyages from literature.
Keeley Hawes stars in a new two part drama starting on ITV tonight. Honour tells the story of Detective Chief Inspector Caroline Goode and her real life investigation into the tragic murder of Banaz Mahmod, a 20 year old Iraqi Kurd who was killed in 2006 for leaving her arranged marriage with an abuser to be with the man she loved. Janice talks to the screenwriter of the drama, Gwyneth Hughes, about bringing this story to the screen.
Former Afternoon Show Poet-in Residence Stuart Paterson talks about his new book of poetry for children, A Squatter o鈥� Bairn Rhymes, the first significant Scots language book of poems for children in quite a while.
Make A Difference: Janice hears about Kirrie Connections, a dementia-friendly community hub that offers help support and advice to local people living with dementia and their families and carers. The hub is also the first Scottish pilot project for a new Dutch model of dementia care.
