World record Everesting up the Mournes; Powerchair football; Floss the NI rescue dog
Jason Brown playing competitive powerchair football and the first wheelchair user in NI to be well on his way to getting his official football coaching badges.
John chats to Ian Bay Bailey about his new world record at Everesting, completed on Slieve Donard by running 8848 metres of ascent and descent in 11 hours 17 minutes. Also, Jason Brown is very passionate about football – born with Cerebral Palsy, he tells John about competing in powerchair football and his aims to be the first wheelchair user in NI to get his official football coaching badges. We dip into the archive when John visited Newcastle and met Floss – the remarkable NI Rescue Dog who’s owned by Ralph O’Connor. Paula McIntyre is also cooking mustard-fried brined pork chops with roast apple sauce and celery and apple salad.
