It's exactly 50 years since that legendary performance from Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of Wight Festival, which cemented his reputation as one of the giants of rock. We've a posthumous no.1 from him along with a few great memories from listeners who were actually on site to witness it all unfold that weekend.
The award-winning TV show Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing is back for a third series this week on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ iPlayer, so we'll revisit a chat with Paul and Bob from July 2019, and get them to each pick a couple of classic '70s songs that they still love today.
All the usual features are here too - ‘This Week In Music’ spotlights Elton John's initial U.S. gig in Los Angeles, 50 years ago this week, plus one of the greatest albums from The Boss, which arrived in American record shops exactly 45 years ago.
A late, great British singer and musician gets his debut entry into ‘Johnnie’s Jukebox’, thanks to Gemma Cawley in Benfleet, plus we've got loads of your requests, dedications and stories right across the show.
We’d love to hear from you, so email: walker@bbc.co.uk
