Johnnie's here with a special show full of early Glastonbury memories across the 1970s.

Back at the first-ever event in September 1970, it cost just a pound to attend, you got a free carton of milk thrown in with the admission price, and fewer than 1500 people turned up. They thought they were going to see The Kinks, but Ray Davies and his boys pulled out at the last minute. Since then it's grown into a global showcase for music and the arts, but sadly the 2020 festival is off.

We can still party though, so join us and celebrate its 50th anniversary in our two-hour bonanza. We revisit Johnnie's interview with Glastonbury supremo Michael Eavis, who shares his stories and anecdotes of those early days, plus he'll name his ultimate Glastonbury Rock God.

Listeners and musicians who were lucky enough to attend back in those early days describe their hazy memories of what it was like and who the stand-out acts were.
