Anna Macleod chats with two new guests about their favourite books. Iain Stephen Morrison from South Uist and Amina Davidson, who lives in Glasgow, discuss books of special interest to them.
Iain is a journalist who works as the editor of the multi award-winning newspaper Am PÃ ipear. He is also a crofter. His first book choice is the House with the Green Shutters by George Douglas Brown which is set in rural Ayrshire. His second recommendation is a book written by Patrick deWitt called The Sisters Brothers. It is about two brothers who are hired assassins travelling through the Northwest of the USA in 1851 to kill two businessmen.
Amina spent her early years in Edinburgh but is now based in Glasgow where she works as a musician. Her first book recommendation is a horror novel by Stephen King called Doctor Sleep. This is the sequel to The Shining. Amina’s second choice is very different and it is a collection of waulking songs sung by Mà iri Nighean Alasdair (Mary MacDonald) from South Uist.
At the end of the show, each guest has to determine which of the four books they would like to take home with them.
