As this year鈥檚 Summer Reading Challenge launches it seems more relevant than ever; It鈥檚 launching a wee bit earlier than usual to keep children reading over the summer and support parents and carers with children already at home. With school life disrupted and many young people missing the company of their friends, this year鈥檚 Challenge will help parents and carers find fun, family-friendly activities, maintain literacy levels- which tend to drop over the summer- and create a safe space for children to connect with their peers. Scottish ambassador, illustrator Johanna Basford joins Janice.
