Chris marks what would have been Record Store Day 2020 with Tom Watson (UK Music), Phil Barton (Sister Ray Records, Soho) and Celia (The Big Moon).
His Classic Album of the Weekend is The Monkees self-titled debut from 1966, which is the first album he ever owned.
Plus there will be Record Store Day exclusives from Suede, Ezra Collective and Snapped Ankles.
Throughout today ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 6 Music is broadcasting a special series of programmes in support of Record Store Day, which has been postponed. 'Record Store Day: Mail Order' on 6 Music aims to raise awareness of the challenges the retail sector currently faces, reminding listeners how they can continue to support artists and record stores. It also celebrates the army of key delivery workers and retailers who are continuing to keep music fans supplied with the music they love in these challenging times. Throughout this special day of music sharing and exploration, 6 Music presenters talk to musicians, record collectors, music industry figures and music retailers as well as playing a selection of music from their own and other ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio presenters’ record collections to show support for this vital part of the music loving community.
