Farmers are perhaps breathing a sign of relief after the Budget. Many of the expected measures didn't materialise - for example, agriculture will be exempt from the removal of the tax relief on red diesel. Rural groups welcomed the extra money announced for research and development - but called for more of it to go to the agri-tech sector.
