All鈥檚 Fayre
Love and romance get a distinctly NI comedy twist. Bridezilla Sarah and her hapless husband-to-be, Jack, visit a wedding fayre.
Love and romance get a distinctly Northern Irish twist, in a brand new six-part radio comedy on Radio Ulster, from breakthrough writer-comedian Ciaran Bartlett.
How to Have a Northern Irish Wedding follows twenty-something Belfast Bridezilla Sarah, and her hapless husband-to-be, Jack, in planning a very special big day 鈥 on a budget!
Interfering mothers-in-law, a roguish best man and a high-maintenance bridesmaid join them on their journey into the weird and wonderful world of NI nuptials. Things are about to get sticky for love鈥檚 young dream, as Jack & Sarah deal with warring relatives, extortionate hoteliers and unstable best friends, offer unhelpful advice on veils, vows and venues.
This is the wedding show that asks the important questions like鈥
Is it okay to have X-Factor-style auditions for wedding singers?
Will the guests know that the white doves are actually albino pigeons?
Can our young couple find a venue that doesn鈥檛 stink and keep the guest list down, all while trying not to get scammed? But most importantly, what do you do when the father of the groom starts falling for the mother of the bride?
The series has been written by Belfast comedian Ciar谩n Bartlett and directed by Eoin O鈥機allaghan. Ciar谩n Bartlett said: 鈥淭his is a sitcom about planning a wedding in Belfast, and all the weird and wonderful things that entails. It's a warm, broad comedy, with something for everyone. We managed to get together a great crew and fantastic cast and we all had a great time making the six episodes. I hope people enjoy it and see a snapshot of themselves, their family and friends in some of these characters.鈥
