Sawbones and a game of chess
Elizabeth Alker with music by Anna Meredith, Erland Cooper and Julia Holter, plus new pieces by Hinako Omori and an exclusive preview track by Simon Fisher Turner & Edmund de Waal
Elizabeth Alker with music by Anna Meredith, Erland Cooper and Julia Holter, plus new pieces by Hinako Omori and an exclusive preview track by Simon Fisher Turner & Edmund de Waal. The punchy beats of Anna Meredith's latest single Sawbones contrast with the delicate sonorities of Erland Cooper's musical picture of a game of chess - a real game of chess, from 1858: he wrote it for 成人快手 Radio 4, but you can hear it here complete for the very first time. Hinako Omori's new album Auraelia is a sonic evocation of her experience of migraines with auras, while composer Simon Fisher Turner creates an extraordinary new soundwork for an installation by author and ceramicist Edmund de Waal.
