08/01/2020 - Day 1 at the Oxford Farming Conferences
Ahead of the documentary Apocalypse Cow, Charlotte Smith speaks to campaigner George Monbiot about whether farming has a future.
Charlotte Smith visits the Oxford Farming Conference, which opened this year with a special fringe event about diversity and inclusion in agriculture. She hears from a vet who has experienced racism and talks to woman about how she's dealt with homophobia in her rural Derbyshire village.
This year, delegates from the Oxford Farming Conference and the Oxford Real Farming Conference are coming together for a special event - set up by the Innovative Farmers - to look at the growing UK wine sector. Charlotte speaks to two producers about their unusual red wine.
And a new documentary on Channel 4 called Apocalypse Cow looks at a future without farming. Charlotte meets the presenter, George Monbiot.
