This Year's Weather
From drought to floods: 2019 has been a year of extreme weather. But what does it mean for farmers and how long will they be feeling the impacts?
In spring 2019 farmers were worried about a drought. Since then, we've seen flooding on several occasions, with hundreds of acres of farmland submerged. Even for farmers who escaped the floodwater, the consistent wet weather has had an impact and many have failed to sow much of their winter crops.
In this programme, Charlotte Smith visits an arable farm in Essex to look at the short and long term consequences of this year's weather.
