The Pat Finucane Centre defends its director Paul O'Connor after he admitted being in the IRA as a teenager but denied any role in the killing of a fellow member.

An Ulster Unionist MLA is calling on the PSNI to investigate claims that Paul O'Connor, the director of the Derry-based Pat Finucane Centre, was involved in the killing of 16-year-old IRA member Jim O'Hagan in a shooting in Derry in 1971. The claim is made in a blog written by the convicted IRA bomber Shane Paul O'Doherty. Mr O'Connor DENIES having anything to do with the shooting but does admit that he was in the IRA for two years when he was a teenager.
