In More Detail....
Sand Dunes are a dynamic landscape, a unique habitat for flora and fauna and of course a trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without playing in them! But they're under threat - since 1900, sand dune habitats have declined by a third across the UK, and by two-thirds in Wales, putting endangered species — such as the Natterjack toad, Dune Gentian, and Sand Lizard — at risk. is a major conservation project, led by Natural Resources Wales, to revitalise over 2400 hectares of sand dunes across Wales. Caroline Evans hears about it at and that of where she meets the wardens, volunteers and an overlapping project, Dunes to Dunes, sharing the same ambition to restore the sand dunes of Wales.
