Black Country band Chartreuse plays live for Jo in studio, ahead of the launch of their debut EP 鈥淓ven Free Money Doesn鈥檛 Get Me Out Of Bed鈥�.

The EP is released on November 1st and was recorded in Tottenham alongside producer Luke Smith (Foals, Depeche Mode). The EP is a culmination of the band鈥檚 initial writing, figuring out who they want to be, what they want to say, and then a complete re-shaping of those early sketches, to capture a mood and an atmosphere for their first visit to a studio.

Hailing from the Black Country, Chartreuse create richly textured, loose-limbed, country-kissed soul music. It鈥檚 a sound that roughly orbits the alt-country shaped textures of Lambchop, the unhurried grandeur of Nick Cave, and the life-affirming unity of The National. Chartreuse had their first show as a band in October 2014 and since then have been invited on support tours and played shows with Matt Corby, Lucy Rose and Drenge.

And whether you鈥檙e picking up or dropping off, Jo provides the soundtrack for the Taxi Service.
