Film reviews, OMD's Andy McCluskey and Paul Hutchinson, Boo Hewardine
Film reviews of The Day Shall Come, Farming and Abominable, plus singer-songwriter Boo Hewardine on his new album and OMD's Andy McCluskey and Paul Hutchinson on a new box set.
Film review day and we’ll be discussing this week’s new releases: satirical comedy thriller The Day Shall Come, Chris Morris’ first return to the screen since Four Lions nine years ago; Farming, a coming of age story about an adopted Nigerian boy who becomes the feared leader of a skinhead gang- and Abominable, an animation about teenage Yi who, after discovering a Yeti on the roof of her apartment building, embarks on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family.
Boo Hewardine, singer-songwriter and producer, will join Grant for a chat about his new album Before, and Grant also speaks to OMD’s Andy McCluskey and Paul Hutchinson as they continue the celebrations for the band’s 40th anniversary with a gigantic new boxset.
And finally we'll discuss a new book of gorgeous photographs from Scottish landscape photographer Allan Wright with an introduction and accompanying poetry from wordsmith Gerda Stevenson. The book simply titled Edinburgh consists of 87 photographs and 22 new poems which show the many sides to Auld Reekie, the local and international, modern and ancient, wealthy and homeless.
