Grant hosts live performances from the four finalists of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Scotland's Singer Songwriter award, and Judith Owen performs live music on our Steinway in Glasgow.
Gus Harrower, Liv Dawn, Mike McKenzie and Scott Wallace have reached the final of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Scotland’s Singer Songwriter of the Year Award 2019. Grant Stott introduces listeners to all four finalists, you’ll find out a little more about them, and all four of them will perform their chosen entries live from Studio One in Glasgow.
Manda Scott was announced as the McIlvanney prize winner, but she immediately insisted on sharing the win with her fellow nominees, Christopher Brookmyre and his wife Dr Marisa Haetzman who write under the name Ambrose Parry, Doug Johnstone and Denise Mina. She tells Grant about this generous gesture and about her experience at the Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival this weekend.
Welsh singer songwriter (and wife of Harry Shearer) Judith Owen performs live music from her new album of cover versions on our Steinway in Studio One ahead of her upcoming gig at Glasgow’s CCA venue. She gives Ed Sheeran depth he never knew he had apparently.
