Operation Yellowhammer documents warn of Northern Ireland roadblocks and protests here as potential fallout from a no-deal Brexit.
Job losses, protests and road blocks could be the result of fallout from a no-deal Brexit according to a government document as Operation Yellowhammer scenarios were published last night. The document said that some cross-border trade would stop and agri-food would be worst hit by tariffs. It predicted some firms would stop trading and those that continued would face higher costs which could be passed on to consumers. Meanwhile 51% of Northern Ireland voters would back a united Ireland according to a new poll, if there was a border poll tomorrow. The poll was conducted by Conservative peer Lord Ashcroft and interviewed 1,542 adults online between August 30 and September 2. Stephen spoke to 成人快手 NI political correspondent Enda McClafferty and got the views of Aont煤 leader Peadar T贸ib铆n and commentator Ruth Dudley Edwards.
Also on the programme, a major blow for our two main airports. Two airlines are cutting routes at both Belfast International and Belfast City airports. Ryanair is understood to have reduced a number of services at Aldergrove this winter. Meanwhile, Aer Lingus has confirmed it will no longer be offering two routes at Belfast City Airport from next summer.
