Edwyn Collins chooses the Tracks of My Years

Edwyn Collins, Scottish singer songwriter and record producer, chooses his final Tracks of My Years with music from Redbone and The Kingsmen.

Edwyn Collins, Scottish singer-songwriter and record producer, chooses the Tracks of My Years with music from Redbone and The Kingsmen. Edwyn was the lead singer for the 1980's post-punk band Orange Juice, which he co-founded. Following the group's split in 1985, Edwyn embarked on a solo career and his 1995 single "A Girl Like You" was a worldwide hit. In February 2005 he was hospitalised following two cerebral haemorrhages which resulted in aphasia, and he subsequently underwent a month long rehabilitation period. Edwyn resumed his musical career in 2007. A documentary film on his recovery, titled "The Possibilities Are Endless", was released in 2014.

Edwyn co-founded the indie record label Postcard Records and co-founded a second label, Analogue Enhanced Digital, in 2011. He has also worked as an illustrator, television actor, television producer and record producer. He won an Ivor Novello Award, the Ivor Inspiration Award, in 2009. This month Edwyn announced details on the release of "I Guess We Were Young", the latest track from his ninth solo album, "Badbea", which was released on his own label, AED, earlier this year. His forthcoming tour "Hide The Biscuits...It's Edwyn Collins Outside Tour" begins on 28th August and ends mid September.
