Comedians Rhod Gilbert, Stuart Mitchell and Susie McCabe plus movie reviews, theatre and live music

Comedians Rhod Gilbert, Stuart Mitchell and Susie McCabe, plus movie reviews, theatre and music from The Scott Walker Songbook, Tokyo Rose and rising young star Abby Allan.

Grant Stott hosts The Afternoon Show’s Festival offering at the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Blue Tent, with one of the UK's leading comedy talents - you may know him as the as a warm and witty host of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ2's hugely popular show YOU'RE FIRED - the spin-off show from THE APPRENTICE - but he has enjoyed many successful years as a star of television and radio as well as a prolific writer and first-class live performer; Rhod Gilbert discusses his new show, The Book of John.

We will continue our celebration of comedy with not one but two rising Scottish stars: the fabulous Stuart Mitchell, who counts actor WILL FERRELL amongst his fans(!) and multi-award-winning Glaswegian comedian SUSIE McCABE.

Grant will also hear about the electrifying musical TOKYO ROSE - a remarkable show based on a true story about an American woman charged with treason during World War II.

And Bible John – a new play which uses a real, unsolved series of murders that occurred in Glasgow at the Barrowlands Ballroom in the late 60s to interrogate the current cult of true crime and notions of victimhood.

We’ll also have our usual weekly movie reviews, (including Angel Has Fallen – Gerard Butler’s latest Actioner!) and stunning live music from young Scottish singer Abby Allan.

All that and THE SCOTT WALKER SONGBOOK: Singer Andy Davies and pianist Kirsty Newton bring to life this story of adoration, self-loathing, excess, beautiful ballads, unlistenable albums, success, failure and the redemption of madness!

Don’t Miss it!
