Former world champion James Guy is Britain’s leading medal hope on the third day of swimming in Gwangju, while Adam Peaty begins his quest to retain the 50m breaststroke title.
Guy lost his 200m freestyle world title two years ago when he faded to fifth, a place behind team-mate Duncan Scott. The man to beat will once again be China’s reigning Olympic and world champion Sun Yang.
Peaty is expected to make fast work of his semi-final in the 50m breaststroke, an event in which he is world record holder and double world champion. The most decorated female swimmer in history, Katie Ledecky of the USA, is also in action – she’s vying for a fourth straight 1500m freestyle world title on Tuesday.
Introduced by Jeanette Kwakye, with commentary provided by Andy Jameson.
