Live from the Bluedot Festival
Radcliffe and Maconie are also live from the festival gearing up for headliners, Kraftwerk. They鈥檙e joined by 808 State, The Clangers and wildlife presenter Liz Bonnin.
Continuing 成人快手 Radio 6 Music鈥檚 celebration of the moon landings in 1969, Mark and Stuart are broadcasting live this afternoon from the Bluedot Festival in Cheshire which is this year celebrating the 50 anniversary of the moon landings.
They鈥檙e joined by 808 State who chat ahead of playing this evening & wildlife and natural history presenter Liz Bonnin who is delivering a talk at the Festival about The Problem with Plastics - Liz chats about the full scale of the problem across our oceans and explores how science can offer solutions to one of the biggest environmental disasters of our time.
Plus, the actual Clangers chat alongside with 成人快手 Science presenter Maggie Aderin Pocock about their activities over the weekend and author Sue Nelson tells Mark and Stuart all about Wally Funk who was among the Mercury 13, the first group of American pilots to complete NASA's 1961 Women in Space program. Funk breezed through the rigorous physical and mental tests, her scores beating those of many of the male candidates鈥攅ven John Glenn. Just one week before Funk was to enter the final phase of training, the entire program was abruptly cancelled. Politics and prejudice meant that none of the more-than-qualified women ever went to space.
Mark and Stuart are also joined by 6 Music's Clare Crane who recaps some of the Music News stories from the festival and there is live music from the brilliant Chappaqua Wrestling who play live before their set later today at the 成人快手 Introducing stage.
