Film reviews, Kirsty Wark on her new novel, poems for newly-graduated doctors and composer and presenter Neil Brand on Laurel and Hardy.

Thursday is our film review day. Today Grant is joined by our expert reviewers to discuss Asif Kapardia鈥檚 new documentary, Diego Maradona; Sometimes Always Never, Bill Nighy鈥檚 new film, and a thriller starring Alexander Skarsg氓rd, Jesse Eisenberg, and Salma Hayek, The Hummingbird Project, about the high-stakes game of high-frequency trading, where winning is measured in milliseconds.

Broadcaster and author Kirsty Wark talks about her new novel The House by the Loch

Designed to fit into the pocket of a lab coat, Tools of the Trade is a volume of poems for newly-qualified doctors. Grant will be exploring the collection with Dr Gavin Francis, who has written the introduction, and retired GP Dr Lesley Morrison.

And composer and presenter Neil Brand talks about his new stage show, about everyone鈥檚 favourite comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, recently portrayed in the hit film Stan and Ollie. The show tours Scotland this month.
