New Order's Stephen Morris
New Order's Stephen Morris joins Mark and Stuart to chat about his new memoir
Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast
On today's show, New Order's Stephen Morris joins Mark and Stuart to chat about his new memoir. Stephen went to the same Macclesfield school as Ian Curtis, joined Joy Division as their drummer in their early days, and went on to form New Order with Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen's future wife Gillian Gilbert. In his new book - the first installment of his memoirs - he looks back on his childhood in Macclesfield and his life during the days of Joy Division. He talks to Mark and Stuart about his writing and career as well as the new boxed set release of New Order's debut album Movement.
Also on the show, top Saturday feature 'Sampled Underfoot', where Mark and Stuart dig out the original music sampled in some of our favourite tracks.
Clare Crane is here with the best music and entertainment stories of the past week in ‘This Week In Music’.
You can take part in The Chain, choosing a track for our world-famous list of interconnected songs, as it approaches number 8000!
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
