Graham Norton and Johnny Logan
Graham Norton chats to Ken about the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Australian-born Irish singer-songwriter Johnny Logan picks his Tracks of My Years from the competition.
Graham Norton chats to Ken about this year's Eurovision Song Contest as he prepares to head to Israel for the Grand Final. He shares his thoughts on this year's competition and what we can expect from his commentary on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One this year.
Johnny Logan, the Australian born Irish singer-songwriter picks his Tracks of My Years from the Eurovision Song Contest with music from Umberto Tozzi & Raf and The Common Linnets. Johnny holds the record as the only person to win the contest twice, he won in 1980 with Whats Another Year and again in 1987 with Hold Me Now, which he also wrote. Plus he also wrote the winning song Why Me? for Linda Martin who won in 1992 for Ireland. Johnny wrote another entry for Linda Martin called Terminal 3 in 1984 which came second in the competition. This interview was first broadcast in 2016.
41 countries are taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019, with Bulgaria absent for the first time since 2015 and Ukraine also pulling out. The contest will take place in Israel for the third time; they have previously hosted the event in 1979 and 1999. They declined to host the competition in 1980 after winning for a second time in a row. In 2018, Netta won the final with her song ‘Toy’ in Lisbon, Portugal. Michael Rice is the UK entry to the competition this year performing his song, Bigger Than Us.
Ken's got another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the record and album of the week.
