Weather World looks at how our changing climate impacts life around us, from plants and trees to bird migration patterns.
The Weather World team are in West Sussex to look at how our changing climate and ever-unpredictable seasons can impact on the things that live and grow around us.
Sarah Keith-Lucas visits the RSPB鈥檚 Pulborough Brooks nature reserve, to find out about climate change and bird migration. Earlier migration can leave birds out of sync with the availability of food for their chicks. While higher temperatures mean some birds try their luck at wintering in the UK, but they are vulnerable to cold snaps.
Meanwhile, Nick Miller visits Wakehurst, a vast 500 acre site managed by Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, to see how our warming climate is affecting the growing season. The site is also home to the Millennium Seed Bank, an ambitious conservation project which collects and preserves billions of seeds from species under threat around the world.
The programme also looks back at recent tumultuous weather events, including Cyclone Idai, one of the most devastating tropical cyclones to hit Africa, as well as the polar vortex that froze large swathes of the United States.
