Daffodils for Dementia

The sheep farmer growing daffodils in the Black Mountains in a bid to help battle Alzheimer's Disease.

Lambs and daffodils, emblems of both Wales and spring, but they're also at the heart of farm business in the Black mountains. Rachael Garside meets the sheep farmer who is growing a pioneering business, ready to lead the way in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease. Daffodils contain a compound called galantamine which can slow down the progress of the disease and those that are grown at over 1,000 feet produce a lot more of the natural chemical. This, according to farmer, Kevin Stephens is the Black Mountain Effect.
