Journalist Kitty Holland says Notre-Dame coverage "hysterical" - does she have a point? Is it "just a building"?
"I'm sorry. The coverage of the burning of a church in France is getting hysterical. It's a building....I am not grief-stricken." A tweet from Irish Times journalist Kitty Holland. It follows hours of round the clock news coverage of the fire that engulfed the 850 year old cathedral in France on Monday night. Many have flocked to the area, to witness firsthand, the aftermath. Does she have a point? A combined €800m (£692m) has already been pledged to help rebuild. Are we now in hysteria? Kitty Holland joined Vinny this morning alogn with journalist Malachi O'Doherty.
Also on the programme, Ireland and Ulster Rugby captain Rory Best received the Freedom of the Borough at a cost of nearly £40 thousand pounds. The award was given by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council last September at a ceremony that included a spend of £14K on venue hire and another £14K on catering. But is this a good use of taxpayers money? Vinny got the views of commentators Fionola Meredith and Brendan Mulgrew.
And, if you've driven through Newtownards, Larne, Carrickfergus or Cookstown recently, you may have noticed a number of new flags and banners appearing on lamposts. The distinctive symbol of the Parachute Regiment is being displayed in some areas in support of Soldier F The former Para has been charged with the murders of James Wray and William McKinney, who were shot dead on Bloody Sunday in January 1972. Parachute Regiment flags have also been spotted in parts of Belfast and Londonderry where some relatives of the Bloody Sunday victims have described the flying of the flags as a "hate crime". Vinny got the views of commentators Chris Donnelly and Jamie Bryson.
All that and more on the biggest show in the country.
