Mike + The Mechanics perform music from their new album Out Of The Blue live in the Radio 2 Piano Room. The band formed in 1985 by Mike Rutherford originally featuring Paul Young of Sad Caf茅 and Paul Carrack of Ace as frontmen, the band immediately stood apart from their contemporaries with their unusual line up of two vocalists. Together, they achieved huge commercial success throughout the 1980s and 1990s with a series of albums including; Mike + The Mechanics, The Living Years and M6. The band started as a side project by Mike but went on to achieve a run of hits including Silent Running, Over My Shoulder, All I Need Is A Miracle and the stunning US and Australian Number One single The Living Years. After Paul Young鈥檚 sudden death in 2000, the band released one further album before deciding to call it a day. Despite never expecting to start work with the Mechanics again, Mike started to write songs again he invited singers Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar to work on the material with him in 2011.

Gabrielle, the UK singer-songwriter picks the Tracks of My Years and tells the stories behind her favourite tracks. Gabrielle has sold over 5 million records in the UK alone and achieved two number 1 singles, 10 Top 10 singles, a number 1 album and 5 Top 10 Albums. She is also a two time BRIT Award winner, receiving the Best British Breakthrough Act in 1994 and the Best British Female Solo Artist in 1997. Under My Skin is Gabrielle鈥檚 first studio album in 11 years and marks 25 years since the release of her debut single, Dreams.
