Tom Robinson sits in - Graham Parker is this week's guest

Graham Parker joins Tom to recall the 1970s and chat about his career with The Rumour.

Singer songwriter Graham Parker began his career with The Rumour in 1975. Born in East London in 1950, he's most often associated with the pub rock scene of the 1970s. Graham released his first album with the Rumour in April 1976, called 'Howlin' Wind'. The record reflected Graham's early influences; Motown, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. Success followed in 1977 with their cover of the Trammps 'Hold Back the Night' which earned the band a top 30 UK hit and an appearance on Top of the Pops.

These days, Graham has a new album out and called 'Cloud Symbols' and he's also the subject of a new documentary, 'Don't Ask Me Questions'. Graham is due to tour the UK in the Autumn.
