Eisenach and Ohrdruf

Donald Macleod accompanies JS Bach on his travels from place to place throughout his life. Today, Bach鈥檚 early years in the towns of Eisenach and Ohrdruf.

Donald Macleod draws alongside JS Bach as he travels from place to place throughout his life. In today鈥檚 programme we trace Bach鈥檚 life until the age of 15, the period in which he was living in the town of Eisenach and, after the death of his father, in Ohrdruf with his older brother. These are the years of his education, such as it was, when his excellence as an organist and a singer was first recognised.
