Police Federation in Brexit clarity call.

The Police Federation for NI is calling for certainty, direction and clarity around Brexit and what it will mean for policing in Northern Ireland after March next year.

The Police Federation for Northern Ireland is calling for certainty, direction and clarity around Brexit and what it will mean for policing in Northern Ireland after March next year. They say - "We need hundreds more officers if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal...We simply cannot produce three-four hundred officers overnight." Vinny spoke to chair of the Police Federation Mark Lindsay who set out his concerns, and we got reaction from TUV MLA Jim Allister and former PSNI officer Jim Gamble.

Also on the programme, dire warnings have been issued by the head of the Bank of England over what to expect for the UK economy in the event of a no deal Brexit. Mark Carney has warned that the 拢 could plunge by a quarter, sparking a worse recession than the financial crisis of 10 years ago. Vinny spoke to Alliance Party MLA Stephen Farry and economist and former advisor to David Trimble, Graham Gudgin.

And, an English primary school has scrapped written homework for nearly all its pupils because it adds to "stress." All year groups, apart from Year 6 in Littletown Primary Academy in Devon will be encouraged to do 20 minutes of reading every night instead. The change is aimed at reducing teachers' workloads as well as taking the pressure off children and their families. So, should we stop homework because it's adding to the stress in our children's lives? Or should we encourage our children to toughen up? Vinny got the views of commentators Naomh McElhatton and Emma Woolf.

All that and more on the biggest show in the country...
