The Nolan Show obtains a leaked report into paramilitarism

A report on how paramilitarism is being combated, inquiry evidence shows two former Stormont ministers clashed over RHI and the 25th anniversary of the Shankill Bomb

The Independent Reporting Commission has found that the absence of political decision making at Stormont since January 2017 has had a major adverse impact on efforts to combat paramilitaries.

In the last week of oral evidence in the RHI inquiry witness statements show two former Stormont ministers clashed over their interpretations of events.

And finally, today is the 25th anniversary of the Shankill bomb when the IRA murdered nine Protestant civilians in a no-warning bomb attack on a fish shop on a busy Saturday afternoon. One of the IRA attackers also died when the bomb he had been carrying exploded prematurely. More than 50 people were wounded. In the week that followed, loyalists murdered 14 civilians in retaliation for the IRA bombing. Stephen speaks to Alan McBride, whose wife and father-in-law died in the explosion and Mark Rodgers, whose father, was murdered in a so-called revenge attack.
