The Downliners Sect live In Session

The band formed in 1963 and were contemporaries of the Rolling Stones and Yardbirds. The band released three albums, The Rock Sets In had a tune composed by Reed and Cale.

The band formed in 1963 and were contemporaries of the Rolling Stones and Yardbirds. The band released 3 albums, the third The Rock Sets In had a tune composed by Lou Reed and John Cale before the Velvet Underground.

Members of the band are founder Don Craine on Guitar, John O鈥橪eary on Harmonica, Keith Grant Evans on Bass guitar, Derek Dwyer on Guitar and Mark Freeman on Drums.

Don and Keith, in conjunction with Medway band Thee Headcoats, recorded the album Deerstalking Men in 1996 (under the name Thee Headcoat Sect).

The band perform from our Maida Vale studios in London village.
