Relatives of WW1
In the run up to Armistice Sunday, we are paying tribute and reflecting on some of the people who served and lost their lives in the Great War by hearing stories from their relatives. This week, Anne Marie meets Leonard Quigg on the main street of Bushmills where his great uncle Robert Quigg V.C. was awarded a Victoria Cross for outstanding acts of bravery in the Battle of the Somme in the First World War.聽
Once Upon A Time
Patricia Reilly grew up in the village of Loughgall in County Armagh where she went to school both as a pupil and then as a teacher from the age of six for more than 40 years. Patricia even ended up marrying the principle of Cope School and has now published her memoirs of this historic place of learning.聽
Girona and The Treasure Day
Helen Mark meets up with The Portballintrae Community Development Group who are launching the Girona Gold Story on Saturday 13 October in Portballintrae Village Hall. Fifty years ago the treasure from the Girona, part of the Spanish Amarda fleet, was salvaged from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.聽
