999 call

Nolan listener Catherine tells Vinny how her 999 call was on hold for 12 minutes.

How long would you expect to wait if you dialled 999 for someone to answer? 10 seconds? 1 minute? 10 minutes? Nolan listener Catherine contacted the show to tell us she was on the line listening to a recorded message for 12 minutes before anyone answered. Catherine told Vinny what happened.

Also on the programme, the chances of the UK leaving the EU without a deal next year just increased. The EU summit was supposed to create the mood music ahead of an agreement but ended yesterday with the two sides further away than ever. Hardcore Brexiteers tell us the UK will thrive even without a deal but most remainers warn it will be economic suicide. Who's right? Vinny got reaction from Conservative MP Anna Soubry and businessman Irwin Armstrong.

And, It's still 95 days to Christmas but when is it too early to start buying presents? Sky News anchor Kay Burly has revealed she is sorted for the big day already. She says she actually starts in January buying cut price paper and cards, and by the end of September she has everything bought, wrapped and ready to go. Simple planning or Christmas crackers? Vinny got the views of commentators Niamh Horan and Ian Collins.

All that and more on the biggest show in the country...
