Jonathan Bell admitted that he shouldn't have signed a letter appointing a DUP colleague to a 拢76,000 a year job.
Mr Bell claimed a Stormont spin doctor referred to him as "a monster that had to be put to sleep"
It was one of the most anticipated days of the RHI inquiry so far and it didn't disappoint as former DUP minister Jonathan Bell walked into Stormont to give his recollection of the burn to earn scandal. Amongst other things Mr Bell claimed that Stormont spin doctor and former Nolan Show editor David Gordon said Mr Bell was a "monster that had to be put to sleep".
Mr Bell denied any claim he had tried to punch or break his former spad's finger and he claimed there had been a smear campaign against him after his Nolan Show RHI interview.
Also, Secretary of State Karen Bradley has admitted she didn't understand the way people in Northern Ireland voted before she was appointed in January. Mrs Bradley made her remarks in an interview for the Westminster House magazine, the details of which were revealed last night.
She is quoted as saying "I didn't understand some of the deep-seated and deep-rooted issues that there are in Northern Ireland.
"I didn't understand things like when elections are fought for example in Northern Ireland, people who are nationalists don't vote for unionist parties and vice-versa. So, the parties fight for the election within their own community. Actually, the unionist parties fight the elections against each other in unionist communities and nationalists in nationalist communities. That's a very different world from the world I came from."
